Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice

Why Should Following Jesus Be So Important?

Are you asking why you should follow Jesus? The rewards of following Jesus are immense! The question I will have you ask is what shall it profit you if you gain the whole world and lose your soul? Following Jesus guarantees you eternal life. Our lives don’t end here. We are on a journey in this present world to a better place by the will of God. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God loved you to the extent that he sent his Son into the world to die for you and me. There is no reason why you should continue in sin, given that Jesus has paid the price for your sin. If you have not accepted the gift of salvation, do so now! God is still calling for you to come to him through the Lord Jesus Christ and receive the gift of salvation and eternal life. Let go of the old you and turn your life over to Christ now! Don’t wait!

Your decision today will determine where you’ll spend the rest of your life. God wants to save you. But for you to be saved, you ought to shun sin and live a holy life by the will of God for your life. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. This is the promise of God to you. If you do not believe in God, the Bible calls you “a fool.” Your wisdom has led you to a foolish way of living that leads to death. The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt. They have done abominable things. None does well. But whoever believes in him shall have everlasting life.

You cannot continue in sin and think that grace will abound. No one knows the time or season when the Lord will come. But one thing is certain—he will come. The Bible teaches that he will come as a thief in the night. You have to be ready so that his coming does not take you by surprise. In addition, are you aware that when a man dies, the next thing is judgment? The one who has died and departed from this world will now face judgment. They would have been accepted into God’s kingdom and rewarded with eternal life if they had lived by God’s Word. But if not, the end for such a person is damnation.

This will not be your portion because I am sure that you want to change your life, which is why you’re reading this post. If you’ve decided to live your life by God’s word, then it is a way to heaven. Your end will be an eternal reward. Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

The question then is, what are you sowing in your spirit and body? When you consider your ways, do you think you’ve been living a life that will command praise from God? Normally, you take in physical food to nourish your body, but have you taken the time to consider what is food for your spirit? Know ye not that he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

You need to sow into your spirit the Word of God; you ought to feed on God’s Word so that you will be conformed to his image and likeness. It is the word of God that you have in you and the Holy Spirit dwelling in you that will keep you in God’s righteousness. However, the Holy Ghost will only indwell the redeemed of the Lord. No one can save themselves. You need to come to God through his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will keep you by the Word that you have inside you. This is how we are made righteous.

If a person is in Christ, they are a new creation. By this, I mean their ways of life are different from those of carnal men. God wants to save you! He wants to give you his word, but the question that begs the mind is, are you ready to allow him to save you? If your answer is yes, I call on you now to repeat this prayer after me; say,

“Lord Jesus, forgive me my sins for I am a sinner.” “Wash me with your precious blood that was shed on the cross for my sin,” I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in my heart that God has raised you from the dead. Thank you, Father, for saving me. I am redeemed by the blood of Jesus. And thank you, Lord, for writing my name in the Lamb Book of Life. I am saved in Jesus’ name.

As you’ve prayed this prayer from the heart, I join the host of heaven in welcoming you into the Kingdom of God! You’re now saved from sin and the power of Satan. The next step is to desire the sincere milk in the Word of God as a newborn baby in Christ Jesus so that you can grow therein and be ready to resist the temptation of sin and Satan. Furthermore, I encourage you to join a Bible-believing church and start attending, as this would help with your spiritual development.

Now that I have shared with you how to come to Christ for all its worth, I hope that you will go on to do just that. I encourage you to study the Word of God and again to pursue a Bible-believing church and attend faithfully. By doing so, you will learn more about the truth and have fellowship with like-minded believers.
