Biblical Perspectives on Salvation and Purpose

Philippians 2:12–13 says, “Therefore, my dear friends … continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”

Salvation involves continually shaping ourselves into the people God intends us to be. It means growing, learning, and maturing in our faith, facing new challenges and choices that test our faith and shape our character. God has a plan and purpose for everyone, equipping them with gifts and talents to fulfill it.

As we become more like Christ, God works through us to share Christ’s love and grace with the world. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” God has a plan and a purpose for each of us, and he equips us with gifts and talents to fulfill it.
